Today, I am talking about How to Install Service Pack 1 on Windows 7. Previously, I wrote about How to check if service pack one is installed on your Windows 7 or not. Someone asked me how to install service pack one on Windows 7. Then, I think installing service pack one on Windows 7 is not an easy task. So, I decided to make an article on how to install service pack one on Windows 7. There are many methods to install service pack one, but I am giving two methods out of those. So, let’s come to our first method.
Method 1: From Windows Update:
Step 1: First click on the start menu button, click on All Program, and select Windows Update.
Step 2: Right side of the page, click on “Check for updates”.
Step 3: Then, Click on “critical update is available” and then select “Service Pack for Microsoft Windows (KB976932)” and then click on ok.
Step 4: Click on “Install Updates”. If you are the administrator, So, It will not ask you to enter the password but if you are a local or family user, so, you had to enter the Administer Password.
Step 5: When the Installation is Complete, it will ask you to reboot the system. Click on “Restart Now”.
Step 6: Log on to your computer and you will receive a notification pointing that your Update being successfully done. Click on close.
Method 2: Installing Windows 7 SP1 from Microsoft Download Center:
First of all check, you have installed “Windows Update KB2454826”. if you have this update installed then download window service pack 1 from Microsoft download canter or if you haven’t this update then update your windows and install “Windows Update KB2454826”.
click on the link to go to Microsoft Win 7 service pack one page.
Step 1: On Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1 page, click on Continued to process.
Step 2: Then it will ask you to install the “Genuine Windows Validation Component.” Click on the install button.
Step 3: After the Security process is complete, the download button is available for you and you can download it. Select the version according to your system. If you have a 32-bit system, then select “windows6.1-KB976932-X86.exe” and if you have a 64-bit then select “windows6.1-KB976932-X64.exe”.
Step 4: Click on download the file. After the download is completed, then double-click on the service pack one that you downloaded, and it on run to start the installation process.
Step 5: Install Windows service pack 1 page opens up, Click on next.
Step 6: If you are installing this on a laptop, make sure that your power adapter is connected to the laptop.
Step 7: If you want your PC to be rebooted automatically. So, check on the box pointing to restart the PC and start the installation.
Step 8: Once the installation is complete I will automatically reboot your PC. Log on to your PC and a confirmation message comes that the update is successfully done.
